
Course Details: COSHH Basic Awareness
Course Duration: Two Hours
Course Description:
This course covers immediate and long term risk factors, health hazards, control factors to reduce risk, basic legal requirements and techniques for safe handling. The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and new COSHH regulations 2002 are also covered. This course is for all personnel who use, manage, store or transport dangerous or potentially dangerous substances.
Aims: By the end of this course personnel will:
* Be able to identify hazards and risks.
* Understand hazard symbols and datasheets.
* Be aware of the use of controls including personal protective equipment.
* Show understanding of the COSHH assessments and regulations.
Learning Objectives:
* Demonstrate understanding of the value and purpose of conducting a COSHH assessment.
* Cleaning, storing and disposing of substances.
* Prevention and control measures.
* Safe handling techniques.
* Identify and classify dangerous substances.
Personnel attending the course will receive a COSHH awareness certification.
