Course Description:
The Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 (as amended) establishes a clear hierarchy of measures for dealing with risks from manual handling. This course is aimed at all personnel involved in any lifting and moving of equipment.
Aims: By the end of this course personnel will:
* Be able to explain the injuries caused by incorrect manual handling.
* Be aware of the need to know what is being handled.
* Show in practice they are able to conduct manual handling safely.
* Know how to avoid hazardous manual handling operations so far as reasonably practicable.
Learning Objectives:
* The analysis of the process of manual in the workplace.
* Injuries that manual handling can cause.
* Controlling risk in manual handling.
* What to know before lifting.
* Responsibilities imposed by the regulations.
* Duties of care to themselves and others when manual handling at work.
Personnel attending the course will receive a certificate of competence in Manual Handling.
